Department of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopaedics is mainly concerned with the treatment of malocclusions and dentofacial deformities. Our department’s main attraction is excellence in clinical care and providing quality treatment to patients. Department is having full time experienced, highly skilled teachers and is equipped with state of art modern equipments. The department has a large number of patient influx with variety of cases ranging from simple malocclusions to most complex orthodontic problems, orthognathic cases and cleft care.

The department has a vision of providing world class orthodontic training to post graduates and under graduate students so that, they can become competent and astute orthodontists and contribute positively in the society. The department is committed to upgrade the knowledge of orthodontics and in this endeavor department conducts various academic programs on regular basis.

We are having at present four post graduate students per year as granted by the dental council of India. We are also teaching orthodontics to hundred undergraduate students in third year and final year.

The department is furnished with fully automatic dental chairs and some most sophisticated cephalometric softwares (Nemoceph). The department is also having equipped departmental library in addition to the central library.

The department is headed by Dr. Shrish Charan Srivastava. He is having a teaching experience of 14 years. He has completed his B.D.S. from Manipal College of Dentistry and his post graduation from prestigious M.S. Ramaiah Dental College. He has been trained under the able guidance of Dr. Silju Methew (past I.O.S. president). He has many C.D.E. programs including J.I.O.S. symposium and faculty development programs. He has many national and international publications to his credit and has been invited as a guest speaker in many forums. He has been striving hard to uplift the department by creating awareness about orthodontics and improving academic standards to deliver quality education to graduates and undergraduates posted in the department. Apart from administrative activities he is also guiding various research projects going on in the department.
