This department deals with the replacement of missing teeth and the associated oral and maxillofacial tissues by artificial substitutes (prostheses) such as implants, crowns, bridges, dentures , obturators and veneers thereby improving the oral function, comfort, aesthetics and overall health of the patients.
The department presently 02 recognized seats and 03 approved seats in addition to teaching 100 undergraduate students.
The department has all state of the art equipment and over 60 fully automatic dental chairs in addition to a very well equipped ceramic/casting laboratory with all the latest equipments and well trained technicians.
The department is equipped with CAD/CAM unit which is 1st in Lucknow among dental colleges.
The addition it has a well stocked library with the latest books by renowned authors and up to date international/national journal available both online and offline
The department is functioning smoothly under the guidance of Dr.Arvind Kumar Singh Prof.& Head Deptt. of Prosthodontics and crown & bridge.
He has completed his BDS from prestigious King George Medical University,Lucknow in 2008 and MDS from Govt. Dental College,Guwahati in 2013.He has teaching experience of 10 year's under his guidance the deptt. represented numerous steps to streamline and improve the department's clinical and academic work.
Dr. Arvind has been awarded "CHIKITSHA GAURAV AWARD" of 2022 and 2023 held in U.P. press club Lucknow. Dr. Arvind conducted a full day pre-conf-course of PG students in chandigarh and full day Pre- conf-course in PG Convention held in Vizag
He has more than a dozen high impact including PUBMED indexed publications of original research and clinical cases in various prestigious international and national journals to his credit.
He is appointed as external examiner/paper setter in more than half a dozen universities (including KGMU) in UP and other states also and conducts examinations regularly.
He has good command in all clinical branches of Prosthodontics including fixed, removable and maxillofacial Prosthodontics with keen interest in Implantology.
He has guided/co-guided more than 15 post graduate thesis with special emphasis on clinical implant studies.
The department has total of 16 faculty members who are dedicated and sincere. Lectures , seminars , clinical and research work of UG and PG students is carried out in timely and efficient manner.
All the latest equipment for Implantology and maxillofacial Prosthodontics are available in the department and cases are done on regular basis.
