The diagnosis of various oral lesions by taking tissue samples (biopsy) from patients and preparing slides and observing them under microscopes is done here. This department is the back bone of the many other departments of this college. Specimens from all the department are analyzed here. most advanced diagnostic equipments are installed here. Department fulfills its social obligation by doing investigation at subsidized rates. Department have state of art services including standard tissue processing & staining, immunofluorescence, flow cytometry & immunocytochemistry.
The department has 3 post graduate seats & duration of training is 3 years. Post graduates are trained in hematology, histopathology, biochemical analysis & clinical Evaluations.
Dr. Kavita Nitish Garg iis skilled dentist who is presently working as Head & Prof. in Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Pathology and Oral Microbiology. She has completed her BDS in 2006 from Sardar Patel Post Graduate Institute of Dental & Medical sciences, Lucknow and MDS in 2011from Saraswati Dental College & Hospital, lucknow. She started her career by joining as senior resident from prestigious King George Medical University, lucknow in 2011 and worked there for two years.
She has teaching experience of 12 years under her guidance the deptt. represented many steps to streamline and improve the departments academic work.
She has attended many national as well as international conferences and has achieved award for many poster as well as paper presentation and also has achieved best paper award in international conference.
She is also the life member of IAOMP and Indian Dental Association.
She has more than dozen high impact including PUBMED indexed publications of original research, review articles and case reports in various prestigious national as well as international publication to her credit.
She has guided and co guided many post graduate thesis.
