Department of Periodontics is functioning in 3 units viz Post Graduate, Undergraduate & Dental Hygienist section. The Department is well equipped with latest diagnostic & exclusive surgical instruments. The treatment and prevention of diseases of gums is done here. Scaling using ultrasonic devices, root planing, various gingival and periodontal flap surgeries are conducted here.

Department is Headed by Prof. Anand Kishore who did his graduation and post graduation from King George’s Medical College, Lucknow(UP ) India with an experience over 17 years with publications in various National & International Journals. He has attended many National and International conferences. He also holds controller of examination. He has been guide and co guide in many dissertations and thesis.

Department of orthodontic deals with correction of teeth & jaws that are positioned improperly. The treatment is done to those patients suffering from overbite (buck teeth), under bite, cross bite, open bite, misplaced mid line, spacing, crowding. Benefits of orthodontic treatment include healthier mouth, a more pleasing appearance and teeth that are more likely to last a life time. We do the treatment by the help of fixed appliances (Braces, special fixed appliances, fixed space maintainers) & removable appliance (Aligners, removable space maintainers, jaw repositioning appliances, lip & cheek bumpers, palatal expander, removable retainers, Headgear). Department provide clinical care & the educational opportunities for current & potential students. Department has two functioning units. State of art post graduate orthodontic clinic & undergraduate clinic. department provides specialist (post graduates) in three years after BDS degree approved by DCI India. VIbrant & dynamic 8 postgraduate residents who provide contemporary treatment for up to 500 to 800 patients per year.

The department is headed by Dr. Shrish Charan Srivastava. He is having a teaching experience of 14 years. He has completed his B.D.S. from Manipal College of Dentistry and his post graduation from prestigious M.S. Ramaiah Dental College. He has been trained under the able guidance of Dr. Silju Methew (past I.O.S. president). He has many C.D.E. programs including J.I.O.S. symposium and faculty development programs. He has many national and international publications to his credit and has been invited as a guest speaker in many forums. He has been striving hard to uplift the department by creating awareness about orthodontics and improving academic standards to deliver quality education to graduates and undergraduates posted in the department. Apart from administrative activities he is also guiding various research projects going on in the department.

This is the department is responsible for dedicated and clinical instruction in oral maxillofacial surgery, local anesthesia & pain management and has a full scope post graduate residency programs for 72 months or 3 years.There is ample exposure to Head & Neck Oncology as well as facial aesthetic surgery, extractions of badly decayed/mobile teeth and roots, removal of impacted wisdom teeth, cysts and tumors of the oral cavity. the department is fully committed for patient care student & resident care, community & profession, continuing education, scientific research & publications. This department also deals with the treatment of fractures of the jaws by bone plating or arch bar fixation.

Department provides patient care in Dento alveolar surgery, dental implant surgery, surgical correction of maxillofacial correction deformaties, cleft & craniofacial surgery, facial trauma surgery, TMJ surgery, cancer of head & neck, thyroid surgery, facial reconstruction surgery.

This department is headed by Prof Munish Kohli who is also Principal of the college. He did his graduation and post graduation from King George’s Medical, Lucknow. He is having experience over 30 years. He has published more than 30 articles in national & international journals. He has guided more than 25 PG students & attended national and international conferences.

The department is the root of clinical dentistry. This is the first department where patient visit with their problems and a proper diagnosis is made with complete investigations. It is the only branch of dentistry which is a connecting link between medical science & dental science. In CDC & Hospital the department situated at ground floor with fully furnished waiting area with all the facilities.

The basic course of oral medicine is organized to supply the students with fundamental principles of identification of oral diseases. Physical signs of systemic diseases of dental interest are considered to provide the students with essentials of assessment & management of medically compromised patients.

In this department students are taught basic principles of patient interview, the fundamentals of physical examination,recognition of oral diseases, principles of biomedicine, an interdisciplinary course in conjunction with department with oral pathology.

Department is well equipped with latest and ultramodern instruments like x ray machines, digital x ray machines, intra oral camera, electronic pulp tester, tens machine etc.

The department is headed by Dr Dipti Singh. She has done her graduation from Rama Dental College and hospital and post graduation from Babu Banarasi Das University with teaching experience of more than 9 years. She has more than 30 publications in various national and international journals and 5 published books. She has organized various CDE’s & conference since her post graduation year till now. Even she has chaired many sessions in conferences. She is an oral physician and maxillofacial Radiologist with keen interest in diagnosing and treating oral diseases along with interpretation and treatment planning in 3D imaging systems. Actively contributing in the department research programs, among which a few have been completed and published. Also involved in various institutional and co-curricular activities. She has presented scientific papers & posters in National and International Journals with high repute. Her clinical interest are the management of oral mucosal diseases, oral oncology and orofacial pain. She has also served as an Asst.Prof.in Saraswati Dental College for more than a year. She is also chief warden of girls hostel of this college as well as member of ETHICAL and ANTI-RAGGING COMMITTEE. She is committed in achieving academic excellence providing optimal oral health care & high-quality oral treatment along with oral health promotion & care.

This department deals with preventing disease, prolonged life & through organized community efforts. mental efficiency conducts dental check up camps and surveys using mobile dental vans for motivating and educating patients for better oral hygiene and educate them about the harmful effects of bad oral habit. (tobacco, pan, smoking, etc. at community level in rural and urban areas) and lack of dental care.

Mission – More emphasis being placed on the total dental care delivery system & its impact on oral health status.

The outreach programs are carried out on the regular basis with the help of mobile dental unit through organized dental camps. The camps are conducted with the aim of making people aware of oral health promoting oral health among them & provision of basic treatment such as extraction, oral prophylaxis and restorations.

The department main function are oral & dental health education, by improving the oral health of the community. the department arranges the dental care programs with mobile dental van which can provide basic dental services. Mobile dental van has all the latest facilities. Department’s programs are schools dental health, community dental health, early caries detection, monitoring & education programs & typical application of Fluoride etc.

Prof. Dr. ARUN VERMA is our Head of Conservative dentistry & Endodontics department. He has an excellent experience of Academic & Clinical Sciences.
Prof. VERMA has completed his BDS & MDS Degree from the very prestigious king George’s Medical College, Lucknow, India. He has also been the senior resident at King George’s Medical University, Lucknow. He has served as professor in the Department of Conservative Dentistry & Endodontics at sardar Patel Post graduate Institute of Dental and medical Sciences lucknow.
Dr. Arun Verma has supervised many post graduate Thesis as chief guide & co-guide. He has also guided many library dissertations, he has guided many paper and poster for national and international conferences and conventions.
He has attendant as well as presented number of papers in many conferences and convention.He has also been chair person for scientific session in a lot of conferences and convention.
He has a number of paper publications in various Esteemed National and International Journals. He is the co-authour in the text book of Endodontic and Article reviewer in number of journals.
As an External Examiner, he has conducted many B.D.S and M.D.S practical examination in various Established universities and set a number of B.D.S and M.D.S examination paper at various universities.
He is presently the founder member Of Lucknow Academy of Conservative Dentistry & Endodontics Society, (LACE).Our Department believes in facilitating excellent, faster and latest treatment to the patient by advanced approach with newer equipments like operating Micro Scope, RVG, Endo Motor and Apex Locators etc.

In this Department we treat patient with missing & deficient teeth and/or oral and maxillofacial tissues. the oral health and esthetics are obtained for patients through the use of dental implants,dentures, veneers, crowns and teeth whitening through diagnosis, treatment planning, rehabilitation and maintenance. This department can improve the oral function, comfort, appearance & health of the patients by the help of single tooth or the entire set by fixed, removable prosthesis.

The department is functioning smoothly under the guidance of Dr.Gautam Bagchi, Prof. & Head , Dept. of Prosthodontics Crown & Bridge.
He has been voted as favorite teacher by the students and awarded as the “Favorite teacher 2019” in VERVE 2019.
He has completed his BDS from Bharati Vidyapeeth’s Dental College, Pune in 2003 and MDS from Govt. Dental College, Ahmedabad in 2008.
He has teaching experience of 14 years and took charge of the dept. in December 2018.
He has since then along with all the faculty of the dept. implemented numerous steps to streamline and improve the department’s clinical and academic work.
He has conducted CDE programs in the department on “Maxillofacial Prosthodontics” in July 2019 for benefit of UG students and interns.
Dr Gautam has attended and participated in numerous national IPS and state level conferences where he has presented many research and clinical papers ,also he has chaired and judged many events in the same. He has also conducted pre-conference courses in IPS conferences held in Vishakhapatnam and Chandigarh.
He has more than a dozen high impact including PUBMED indexed publications of original research and clinical cases in various prestigious international and national journals to his credit.
He is appointed as external examiner/paper setter in more than half a dozen universities (including KGMU) in UP and other states also and conducts examinations regularly.
He has good command in all clinical branches of Prosthodontics including fixed, removable and maxillofacial Prosthodontics with keen interest in Implantology.
He has guided/co-guided more than 15 post graduate thesis with special emphasis on clinical implant studies.

Since Dental Caries & pulpal disease are one of the very common problem in our country and as a Endodontist its our job to alleviate these kind of problems by providing the specialist treatment. For these kind of problems one should have desire, knowledge and skill. This department deals with treatment of diseased, defective and tooth. we also deal with cosmetic / aesthetic corrections of teeth. As Endodontic specialist we do root canal treatment & Endodontic treatment.

Department is headed by Prof Kapil Loomba who did his graduation and post graduation from King Georges Medical College, Lucknow, UP, India and served the Alma mater as Professor for 22 years. He has awarded prestigious Pierre Fauchard Academy (France) international. He has published 35 articles in international and national journals. He has participated in numbers of national & international conferences. He was member of WHO team. He has been guide and co- guide in many dissertation and thesis of PG’s. He is the only North Indian representing in the south Asian advisory board of endodontics.

Aims of the Department – Prevention & conservation of natural tooth.

The department deals with the comprehensive preventive & specialized dental treatment for children including pit & fissure sealants, typical fluoride application, GIC fillings, composite restorations, root canal treatment pulpectomy, pulpotomy, preventive & interceptive orthodontic treatment etc. Department also do full mouth rehabilitation under & management of pediatric fractures.

Department has both fully functional undergraduate & post graduate section along with preclinical ultra modern lab. The ambience of the clinical operatory is warm, cheerful & friendly to cater to the needs of the children. department also have special play room for little ones.

Department has 2 PG seats recognized by DCI.

Department is headed by Prof C.P Chaudhary who did his graduation & post graduation from King George’s Medical College, Lucknow having experience over 30 years. He is President of the college Management. He has been guide & Co-guide of many dissertation & thesis. He has published many articles in national & international journals.

The diagnosis of various oral lesions by taking tissue samples (biopsy) from patients and preparing slides and observing them under microscopes is done here. This department is the back bone of the many other departments of this college. Specimens from all the department are analyzed here. most advanced diagnostic equipments are installed here. Department fulfills its social obligation by doing investigation at subsidized rates. Department have state of art services including standard tissue processing & staining, immunofluorescence, flow cytometry & immunocytochemistry.

Dr. Prof. Ambrish Kaushal is presently working as head in the department of Oral Pathology .He completed his BDS in 2004 from Saraswati Dental College Lucknow and completed his MDS in 2008 from Ragas Dental College & hospital Chennai.
He started hs career by joining as senior lecturer in Career Dental College lucknow in 2008 and worked there for four years and build up the department for commencement of post graduate course.
He then joined Chandra Dental College & Hospital as Reader in department of Oral Pathology and build up the department for the greater academic knowledge in the field for UG ‘s and PG’s till date.
He remained as guide and co-guide in many dissertations in his academic career.He attended many conferences where he achieved awards for paper and poster presentation and achieved his first best award in Beijing,China in 2009 in international conference WW6 and was selected the only person from North India for paper presentation.
He has many international publications and he has written books on Oral Pathology and Forensic Odontology.He has been appointed as a National and International examiner and delivered many guest lectures.
He is also the member of many societies IAOMP,UPFSL and IAFO.In his academic life time he has done the course in forensic odontology and got the chance to join Uttar Pradesh Forensic Science Lab,Lucknow where he has assisted many crime scenes and given his opinion regarding forensic cases.He has delivered many lectures in Police academy regarding the post mortem process for oral tissues in approximately every district of Uttar Pradesh.
